The Township's permit covers repairing existing plumbing as well as installing new, so a corroded drain found behind the old sink base can turn a finish-only kitchen into a permit job. If that happens, you see it and get the price before we carry on. When a kitchen permit includes plumbing, the Township of King asks for one more document, and which one depends on where the house drains. A home connected to municipal sewers adds a Plumbing Data Sheet to the application. A home on a private septic system adds a Sewage System Evaluation and Declaration for the existing system instead. We confirm how your house is serviced at the first visit, and help with the application itself.

What a new kitchen layout adds to the job

Moving the sink, adding a prep sink or opening a wall reaches past the cabinets. Drain and vent lines run under the floor, a beam takes the place of a bearing wall, and an island with outlets or a cooktop gets new circuits. All of it is drawn before the permit application goes in, so the review covers the whole plan at once. If the room works and only looks tired, keeping the layout leaves all of that out, and the cabinetry and the counter stone you pick set most of the number.
